Memories.............

Since I've started CNA school and now in clinicals, I've got quite an education on Alzheimer's disease. We watched the movie The Notebook in class. I'm thinking maybe I should be writing down my memories before I forget them. No, I don't have Alzheimer's, but the passing of time tends to make some memories start to fade a little bit....I want my future Grands, great grands, etc to know who I was....not just a name on a family tree...........

A Rainy Day

It's a very rainy day here is central Arkansas. I can't get in the yard or garden to do anything, so I'm sitting here at the computer. I am constantly catching myself nodding off!! My forehead hasn't hit the keyboard yet...so I guess I'm okay!! lol
I went to a Garden Show today at the fairgrounds in town. I bought several houseplants, a couple of herb plants and a flowering quince tree. I've got to decide where I want to plant it. Hopefully we have at least one warm, sunny day this week for me to get started on my garden.
My Caladiums are not poking through the soil yet...I may have to get new one this year. The were very huge and gorgeous last summer. I've never grown any before, so I wasn't sure if I should have brought them in before to cold weather.
The photo above was taken a couple of months ago after a big ice storm. This is the road going away from our home. Now all this is beautiful, lush and green. There's a saying in Arkansas..."If you don't like the weather here right now...stick around a couple of days....." lol

WELCOME!

Welcome! Come on in and sit a spell!
Three months ago my son Joshua and his wife Kayla had a baby boy!
Now I'm Mawmaw! It's great! Most people fear becoming grandparents because they think it will make them feel old. Not me! My old rocking chair (that has rocked my four children) and I have been waiting.
When I was a kid I loved to spend time in the summer with my Mawmaw and Pawpaw in their country home and farm. They had a big ol' barn, lots of gardens, chickens, pigs, and cows.
I don't have most of those things, but I do live in the country and I have a garden. Instead of chickens and pigs we have a dog, a cat and two hermit crabs! There is also a bunch of geese and their families that call our pond home.
So sit back, put up your feet andI'll bring you some iced sweet tea and and some cookies and maybe a fried baloney sandwich if you're hungry enough. Just a little snack to tide you over til suppertime!
